David Woodward Biography
Born in 1975 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, David was one of two
children. He grew up in a Christian home, his mother a nurse and
his father a Baptist minister. His dad was musical, and David was
always singing, right from a young age. In fact, he owns an old
reel-to-reel recording of him singing aged around 3-4 years old.
Like all musicians, David's musical style has been influenced by
many great artists. From the southern gospel genre, there is
influence from Russ Taff, the Gaither Vocal Band, Geron Davis,
Ernie Haase and Signature Sound and Guy Penrod to name but a
few. From country music there is Sugarland, Brad Paisley, Collin
Raye, Tim McGraw, Bryan White.... the list goes on.
Most musicians would say that music was the most important
thing to them in the world, but not David. God is first in his life,
followed by his family, and then the music. David's family
support him through everything. He is married with a young son,
and when you add two cats into the mix who try as hard as
possible to disrupt his playing, life is pretty hectic!
